Zora "Obeda" Boman, 89, of Augusta, moved to Heaven on Monday, June 8, 2015.

Obeda was born August 17, 1925, to Jacob and Iva Irene (Woody) Shannon in Dewey, Oklahoma. Obeda was a graduate from Dewey High School. She was united in marriage to Wayne Boman on September 14, 1957. Obeda was a homemaker. She enjoyed making ceramics and teaching others her craft. Her passion was collecting and making porcelain dolls. She participated in many doll shows and her creations won multiple awards. She was also quite the seamstress, making many of her own clothes as well as outfitting the dolls she made with gorgeous gowns and dresses. Even the tiniest doll received a special outfit. She loved to give, and many a person left her home with a special treasure in hand. Her family enjoyed her delicious fried fish (which she helped catch on many fishing and camping trips), yummy chocolate cake. Apple pie and fudge were also favorites. Many memories were made as her family and friends gathered in her home. There were special evenings when friends would enjoy playing a spirited game of "wahoo." Betty Boop was her favorite character. She had a vast collection and a life-size "Betty" that she painted on the door of her shop.

Her survivors include her sons, Charles "Lloyd" and wife Kathy Van Dever of Augusta, Kansas, Floyd "Bub" and wife Teri Van Dever of Leon, Kansas, Walter and wife Kendra Van Dever of Bradenton, Florida; step daughter Joyce and husband Lyoren McCray of Vidor, Texas; 7 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 16 step great grandchildren. Obeda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Johnny and Hobart; sisters Alice and Ruth.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 11, from 1-8 p.m. with family being present from 6-8 p.m. Graveside services will be Friday, June 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Leon Cemetery in Leon, Kansas.

Memorials have been established with Homestead of Augusta and may be left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
