Yvonne Marie Guilfoil, 80, was welcomed into heaven on January 1, 2018.

Yvonne was born June 3, 1937 in Burton, NE to Ernest E. and Marie E. (Schoettger) Ritterbush.  Yvonne and her brother Eldon were raised on the family farm in Keya Paha County Nebraska.  She was surrounded by all boy cousins, so she learned to be strong for herself at an early age.  Her right knee was badly injured when she fell on a potato fork at an early age.  Despite this injury she could still keep up with the boys.  Yvonne attended Keya Paha High School in Springview, NE and graduated in 1955.  She also received a Registered Nursing degree from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Yankton, SD.

Yvonne met the love of her life, Arnold Guilfoil, while she was working as a Registered Nurse at the Rock County Hospital in Bassett, NE. They were married July 8, 1961.  Yvonne and Arnold eventually settled on the Guilfoil family ranch south of Long Pine, NE.  There were fences and windmills to build, check and mend and many prized horses to watch over and children to raise.  Their son, Howard, was born in 1962, daughter, Sharon, was born in 1964.  In the spring of 1974, Yvonne and Arnold relocated to a ranch outside of Rose Hill, KS.  Yvonne worked as an RN in various hospitals and nursing homes in the area.  Arnold worked as a machinist for Cessna Aircraft.  Their daughter, Megan, was born in 1984.

Yvonne and Arnold shared a great love of animals and humor, which they passed on to their children.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Eldon Ritterbush and her son, Howard Guilfoil.

Yvonne is survived by her husband of 56 years, Arnold, daughters Sharon (Heather Angelinetta) Guilfoil and Megan (Ryan) Rice, grandsons Dalton Guilfoil and Wm. Braden Rice and granddaughters Janessa Raines and Katelynn Rice, and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends including Ray and Wanda Ring.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
