William Dwight Walker, 71, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022.

William was born on Wednesday, April 5, 1950 in Augusta, Kansas to Lester MarkAnthany and Anna Isabell (Maggard) Walker.

One of his fondest memories of childhood was attending the Augusta movie theater's Christmas showing. At the age of 16, William signed to join the US Marine Corps. He spent almost two years in Okinawa, training and finishing high school courses, then joined the war in Vietnam in 1968. There he did two tours, transporting live ammunition. After returning home, William began his career in avionics with Cessna. William worked diligently, earning certifications, until becoming an electrical engineer. One of his is prouder moments in avionics came from his time at Boeing, working on Air Force one and the Airborne Laser.

His life wasn't the easiest, but William always found a way to make it through. William perfected his artisan skills of mechanics and was an avid humble inventor ahead of the times. His self-criticism and self-discipline made him continue his strive to perfection.

William enjoyed taking family trips and vacations when his children were younger. Williams focus was always on giving his children and grandchildren fond memories of fun and exploration.

He wasn't the easiest man to get to know but he always had a good heart and good intentions and at the end of almost every day was wise enough to apologize for his unfair choice of words but one of his more noble much wiser sayings was always; "if you're going to do something, why not do it right the first time. It might be more expensive upfront but in the long run you'll be ahead. Nothing in this world is free everything comes with a price you decide what you're willing to pay." Those words are worth more than gold and I hope my father knows or does know now he was worth more than any treasure he alone was worth knowing.
