Weldon Ray "Doc" Gentzler, 96, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016.
Weldon was born on May 16, 1920, to Henry Adelbert and Kathryn Iona (Simmonds) Gentzler in Two Buttes, Colorado. Weldon had served his country in the U.S. Marines. Weldon married Jane Saltzman on January 19, 1945, in Bronx, New York. Weldon had worked as a Chiropractor. He loved carving, Boy scouts, sports and his church.
Weldon is survived by his sons, Larry and his wife Wende Gentzler of Saginaw, Texas, Jerry and his wife Manuela Gentzler of Augusta, Dave and his wife Jessica Gentzler of Manhattan Beach, California and Dan and his wife Cheri Gentzler of Andover; grandchildren, Lindsey, Rachel, Matthew, Katie, Jessica, Gudger, Carol, Doc, Ruby, Duke, Jake, Zac, Gaby and Gunnar; great-grandchildren Alessia, Devon, Jewella, Minka, Roxie, Mason and Matsu.
Weldon was preceded in death by his wife Jane; parents, brothers Leland, Kester and Marvin, sisters Nadene, Neva and Iolene.
Visitation will be from 5-7 Monday June 27 at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta. Funeral services will be Tuesday June 28, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Augusta. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, Kansas.
The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made to Augusta High School Booster Club, Augusta Little League Wrestling Team or First Baptist Church, in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
