Volney Richard "Rick" Hiser, 86, of Augusta, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015.

Rick was born on October 2, 1928 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Eubulus and Juanita (Smith) Hiser. He married Betty Edelman on July 17, 1959. Rick was a tool and dye maker for Boeing for 18 years. He also worked for Parks Chevrolet and other Chevy dealers for 60 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren; camping, fishing and holidays were a favorite hobby of Rick's, especially Christmas and Halloween.

His survivors include his wife Betty, of 55 years. His children, Niki and her husband Bruce Gass of Wichita, Kansas, Richard and his wife Ratree Hiser of Wichita, Kansas, Michael and his wife Debra Hiser of Augusta, Kansas, Steven and his wife Aidia Hiser of El Dorado, Kansas, Terry Hiser of Augusta, Kansas, Tim and his wife Sharon Hiser of Wichita, Kansas, Christy and her husband Richard Wilson of Augusta, Kansas, 24 Grandchildren and 31 Great-grandchildren.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leon Hiser, sister Ruth Johnson, daughter-in-law Tammy Hiser and his Step-Father Ross Bebout who raised him.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 5, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family being present from 6-8 p.m. at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta. Funeral services will be Friday, February 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Augusta. Internment will take place at the Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, Kansas.

Memorials have been established with the Harry Hynes Hospice Inpatient Care, in care of the funeral home.
