Virginia Lee McGinnis, 85, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026.

Virginia was born on Friday, December 13, 1940 in Galena, Missouri to Curtis Eugene and Dorothy (Carr) Brown.

Virginia was united in marriage to Robert Samuel McGinnis on July 7, 1963 in Wichita, Kansas. They were married for 48 years until Bob's passing in 2011. Their family home, where many gathered over the years, was in Augusta, KS.

Virginia graduated Summa Cum Laude from Butler Community College with an associates degree in Medical Lab Technology and worked as a Medical Lab Technologist for many years before retiring.

Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and a variety of crafts with friends and family.

Virginia is survived by her sons, William "Bill" McGinnis of Mulberry, KS, Michael McGinnis of Dodge City, KS, and Gerald and wife, Keri McGinnis of Pike Road, AL; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great-grand-children.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Dorothy; husband, Robert; and brothers, James and David.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13th from 5-7 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 14th at 10 a.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to NorthCare Hospice House     left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
