Obituary

DeLaughder, Virginia Lee (Snyder), 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 23, 2011, at Lakepoint of Augusta.

Virginia was born January 1, 1926, in Three Sands, Oklahoma to William Rufus and Harriett Ann (Morris) Snyder. She graduated from Braman High School in Braman, Oklahoma and married Lee Roy DeLaughder on July 25, 1945, in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Virginia retired from Beechcraft as a parts inspector. She enjoyed singing on the radio in Blackwell, Oklahoma and long haul truck driving, her handle was "short round". She drove go-carts and rode jet ski's, loved to fish, garden and was a member of the Golden Bee's (Beechcraft ladies).

Her survivors include her son Ricky (Deirdre) DeLaughder of Muskogee, Oklahoma; daughters Julie (George) Wolf of Salina, Kansas, Janine (Douglas) Erickson of Douglass, Kansas and Candace Taft of Augusta; sister-in-law Janet Miller of Howard, Kansas; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son David in Vietnam; one brother and three sisters.

A memorial graveside service will be held at the Little Walnut Township Cemetery in Leon, Kansas on Thursday, May 26, at 2:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established with the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 5500 East Kellogg, Wichita, Kansas 67208 or in care of the funeral home.
