Augusta - Verona Jewel Clayton, 83, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.

Verona was born on Monday, July 4, 1938 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to William and Iva (Bradley) Jones.  Verona was united in marriage to Jesse F. Clayton on October 11, 1954 in Newkirk, Oklahoma.  She was a housewife and worked at Cessna as a fuel tank cleaner.  Verona liked to travel, watch Gunsmoke, and bird watch in her back yard.  Most of all she loved spending time with friends and family.

Verona is survived by her daughter Joyce (Melvin) Morrow of Rose Hill; her son Daryl (Shirley) Clayton of Wichita; grandchildren Mike Morrow, Elaine Morrow, Kathrine Ruyle, and Jarod Clayton, Jessica Briscoe and Cameron Clayton and 7 great-grandchildren.

Verona is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jesse, daughter Janice Clayton, grandson Casey Clayton, brothers Dale Jones, Allen Jones, Max Jones and her sister Audrey White.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 17, from 4-6 p.m.  Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 18, both at the Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to Rose Hill Friends Church, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
