Obituary

Thelma M. Smalley, 85, passed away on January 31, 2017. She has made her entry into heaven at last. Thelma was born August 1, 1931 in Corwin, KS to Walter H. and Agnes (Harris) Moody, the youngest of eight children. She married Wallace E. Smalley on July 30, 1950 in Attica, KS. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2003. Thelma was a housekeeper for many years. Many people loved and respected her. She loved baking, quilting, and making copies of the pastors sermons. Her biggest hobby was worrying. Thelma is survived by her son Ron E. Smalley of Augusta, KS; daughter Vicki Blackwell (Lyndon) of Burlington, KS; grandchildren Christy Monasmith (Joel) of Burlington, KS, David Blackwell (Heather) of Americus, KS; three great-grandchildren Jadon, Emlyn and Daren Monasmith of Burlington, KS; brother Paul Moody (Barbara) of Maui, HI; and her special family Mary Nusz, Jeff Nusz, Cindy Cartmell and Ethel Aitchison. Thelma is preceded in death by her husband Wallace; sisters Opal Moody, Audrey Moody, Ruth Epling; brothers Charles Moody, Frank Moody, Myrl Moody and her parents Walter and Agnes. Visitation with family will be on Friday, February 3rd from 6-8pm, at the Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, February 4th, at 10:00 am at the GracePointe Church in Augusta. Graveside service will follow at the Attica Cemetery in Attica, KS at 1:00pm. The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to GracePointe Church, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
