Teressa L. Hammonds, 81, passed away after a long illness on Monday, December 18, 2023.

Teressa is survived by her two sisters, Debra J. Simpson of Spring, Texas and Jill Dirks of Derby, Kansas.

Teressa is preceded in death by her brother, Steve Dirks.

Teressa was born on Friday, December 11, 1942 in Wichita, Kansas to Leonard L. and Maxine (Lynch) East. Teressa attended East High School where she graduated in 1959 and went on to work various jobs. Including one as a medical receptionist at St. Joseph hospital and at Axtell clinic in Newton, Kansas, after attending VO Tech School for medical transcript. Teressa married Larry Hammonds in 1971 in Wichita, Kanas. They were married for 32 years until Larry's passing in 2004.

Teressa was an avid art enthusiast and was talented in her own right at drawing, painting, and making ceramic dolls. She was also a dog lover, having several dogs throughout her life. She was especially found of Schnauzers.
