Russell Lee Carter's Obituary
Carter, Russell Lee, 89, retired assemblyman for Coleman Company, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012.
Russell was born January 20, 1923, to Louis and Alma (Hill) Carter in Bloomington Township in Butler County, Kansas. He was a 1940 graduate from North High School in Wichita. He married RosaLee Wiswell on May 8, 1942, in Wichita.
Survivors include his daughters Virginia Carter of Wichita, Teresa (Dale) Trammell of Toms River, New Jersey and Robin Carter of Centrailia, Washington; a brother Cecil Carter of Pueblo, Colorado; two granddaughters Deborah Trammell of Toms River, New Jersey and Deanna (Rusty) Posey of Brick, New Jersey; two great-grandsons Jesse and Justin Posey.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents; spouse; and a brother Louis Carter.
A memorial graveside service will be held Monday, April 2, at 2:00 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, 521 East 12th Street in Augusta.
