Rusty was born on March 12, 1949, in Ada, Oklahoma. He was retired and a proud, wounded Vietnam Vet who spent his days at home in the country in Rose Hill, Kansas. Rusty was an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend his days hunting, fishing, and enjoying nature. He loved dogs, animals, movies, never meeting a stranger, and always enjoying a good laugh. He was a family man, first and foremost. He loved his wife, children and extended family to no end. But above all else, he loved his grandchildren and, in return, they adored him beyond words.

Rusty had a love for life and a desire to help anyone, without question, at any given moment. He loved the Lord with all his heart. God gained a beautiful angel and proud warrior in Heaven. He flew into the loving arms of his Lord on October 4, 2013.

Rusty is survived by his wife, Brenda Shaw of Rose Hill, Kansas, sons, Aaron Shaw of Ukiah, California, Jeremiah Shaw of Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri, Jacob Shaw of Derby, Kansas, Russell C. Shaw of Hot Springs, Arkansas, daughter Jessica Williams of Douglass, Kansas, two sisters, Rhonda Igo of Derby, Kansas and Rita Crawford of Goddard, Kansas; mother, Evelyn Shaw of Goddard, and 14 grandchildren.

Russell was preceded in death by his father, Russell Shaw and a grandson, Mason Landon Shaw.

Viewing will be held Monday, October 7, from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with visitation with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 8, at 11:00 a.m. all in the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow in Richland Cemetery in Rose Hill, Kansas.
