Ronald Dean Shields, 83, passed away on September 20, 2017.

Ronald was born on February 25, 1934 in Augusta, Kansas to Elza and Gladys (Lee) Shields.  Ronald proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard.  He had worked as a plumber.  Ronald loved hunting and fishing at his home on Grand Lake, Oklahoma.      He could repair anything and everything.   In his younger years, Ronald was a talented athlete, especially excelling at track and baseball.

Ronald is survived by his daughters Susan E. (Kurt) Schroeder of El Dorado, Sandra L. Shields (Lonnie) O'Brien of El Dorado; sister Dona (Robert) Trostle of Hutchinson, brother Larry (Sally) Shields of Brady, TX, brother Kent (Mary) Shields of Cleburne, TX, sister Linda (Dan) Shreve of Newton, and sister Connie (Waldo) Lee of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Sarah (Brad) Weaver, Dakota and Christian Sawyer; great-grandson William Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Reggie and sisters Betty Evans and Patty Burris.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to St. Jude Children's Hospital, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
