Ronald Dean "Ron" Leayman, 74, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

Ron was born on Thursday, December 11, 1947 in Winfield, Kansas to Glenroy "Jim" and Marjorie (Kunkel) Leayman. Ron grew up in Rock, Kansas and graduated from Douglass High School. After graduation Ron proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years during the Vietnam War. He spent the rest of his years working for Boeing and Spirit. Shortly after working for Spirit he was able to happily retire. His days were then spent with his wife of 30 years, Shirley. He enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors, taking a spin around the casino and most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Ron is survived by his wife Shirley; son Jason Leayman; daughter Melodie (Roger Stith) Hotmar; bonus sons Lee (Adriene) and Brian Helt; grandchildren Kaela Steeley, Shaela (David) Larson, Allison (Joey) Ientile, Madison, Cameron, Payton and Piper; great-grandchildren Emerson, Gunnar, Remington and coming soon in August 2022, great-granddaughter Ientile; sisters Jean (Dale) Steward, Cindy (Larry) Hibbard, Mary Leayman; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made out to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Cowley County Humane Society.
