Bowman, Ronald Larry, 72, caring and loving husband, father and grandpa passed away, Friday, October 19, 2012, at his residence.

Ron was born on May 17, 1940, to William Greer and Hazel Francis (Spraggins) Bowman in Big Piney, Missouri. Ron married Shirley May Wear on September 25, 1960, in Overland Park, Kansas. He retired from the United States Army as a Master Sergeant E-8 after 21 years in 1979. Ron also owned and operated his own landscape business for 15 years. He never met a stranger and would usually end up joking with them. He loved camping, fishing, family dinners and a big garden.

Ron is survived by his son and his wife Bill and Christie Bowman; daughters and their husbands Cindy and David Schoffstall and Beverly and Kevin Pennington all of El Dorado; brothers Alan (Shirley) Bowman of Augusta, Myron Bowman of Newkirk, Oklahoma; sister Delores (Daniel) Frantz of Durham, Kansas; grandchildren Ryan (Amanda) Pennington, Jacob Schoffstall, James Pennington, Abigail Schoffstall and Brayden Bowman; great-granddaughter Natalie Pennington.

He is preceded in death by his parents; spouse Shirley Bowman of 50 years; grandson Landen Bowman brother Robert Bowman; sisters Phyllis Kidd and Melva Cavanaugh.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, October 24, from 1-5 p.m. with visitation to follow with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service Thursday, October 25, 10:00 a.m. all in the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel. Procession to follow for interment in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
