Rodney Dean Lamb, 77, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025.

Rodney was born on Sunday, November 16, 1947, in Wichita, Kansas to Jack D. and Mary Etta (Churchill) Lamb.

Rodney was united in marriage to Lance M. Deen for over 40 years, until Rodney's passing.

Rodney was a truly kind, caring, and generous person who cherished his friends. Rodney retired after 30 years of service as a toll collector for the Kansas Turnpike Authority. Rod enjoyed his position as a toll collector very much and was always proud to be kind and helpful to motorists in need of help. Rod also fondly remembered working as a painting contractor in Burbank, Ca. for over 10 years. Rod and Lance enjoyed remodeling and 'flipping' houses in California before it became popular in mainstream media. Prior to moving to California, Rod was a loan officer at a McPherson Bank, a volunteer fireman, and served several years with the National Guard.

In his high school years, Rod was featured in several episodes of a local "American Bandstand" type of program out of Wichita called 'High Fi Hop', in which local talented teen dancers were spotlighted. Rod was also a member of a quartet in high school which nurtured his love of singing and music his entire life.

Rodney's love of cooking was passed down to him by his father, Jack Lamb. Rod enjoyed making people happy and helping those that he could. Rod will be fondly remembered for his special blend of Margaritas which he enjoyed always offering to friends.

Rodney is survived by his husband, Lance of 42 years; sons, Todd (Lisa) of Leon and Tate (Jennifer) of Wichita; grandchildren, Zachary of Andover and Mikayla of Wichita; and great-granddaughter, Lily of Wichita.

Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Etta; son, Troy; and sister, Sharon Eaton.
