Weatherholt, Robert Earl, 92, former oil field roustabout with Texaco passed away Wednesday January 27, 2010 at Lakepoint of Augusta.
He was born in Winfield, Kansas to Robert Otis and Myrtle (Elrod) Weatherholt on October 28, 1917. Robert graduated from El Dorado High School and attended El Dorado Junior College and Kansas State University studying engineering.
In July of 1952 he married Gertrude May Gardner in Chanute, Kansas. After they were married they resided in Ellis, Kansas later moving to Augusta in 1981. Robert served proudly in World War II as a Naval aviator. He was a member of the American Legion, First United Methodist Church of Augusta, and a former Lions Club member.
Survivors include his sons and their wives Richard and Karen of Admire, Kansas and Tom and Elizabeth of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse Gertrude Weatherholt and a brother Aubrey Weatherholt.
Visitation Monday, February 1, from 11-1:00 with funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. both at Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
