Whitson, Robert "Bob" Wayne, 67, of Benton, Kansas passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014.

Viewing will be Wednesday, May 21, from 1-5 p.m., visitation following from 5-7 p.m. with family greeting friends in the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be Thursday, May 22, at 10:00 a.m. in the Benton Cemetery in Benton, Kansas.

Bob was born January 6, 1947, to Robert James and Betty Jewel (Gibbons) Whitson in Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from Circle High School and married Joyce Carolyn Thomas on January 6, 1986, in Miami, Oklahoma. Bob hauled propane for 32 years for Benton LP, now known as Ferrellgas. He also farmed for several years.

His survivors include his wife, Joyce Whitson; son, Jeffrey Whitson and his wife, Misty; daughter, Gina McKeen and her husband, Scott; sister, Vicki Teel and her husband, Russ all of Benton; step-children, J.R. Barnett and his wife, Amy of Tupelo, Mississippi, Jennifer Jeffries and her husband, Will of Boonville, Mississippi, Penny Woodard and Tony "Clay" Jones both of Augusta, Kansas. 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Connie Montana.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with the Bob Whitson Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
