McGinnis, Robert "Bob" Samuel, 76, retired medical technologist, passed away, Sunday, November 6, 2011, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Bob was born January 29, 1935, in Storm Lake, Iowa to Gerald and Ellen (Smith) McGinnis, they precede him in death. He received his Master of Science degree from Kansas State University and married Virginia Lee Brown on July 7, 1963, in Wichita.
Bob was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Augusta and was a Bible scholar. He enjoyed making model airplanes and was a World War II history buff.
His survivors include his wife Virginia of the home; sons Bill McGinnis of Augusta, Mike McGinnis of Goddard, Gerald McGinnis (Keri) of Estero, Florida; brother Richard McGinnis (Barbara) of Los Angeles, California; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Viewing will be Friday, November 11, from 1-5 p.m. and visitation with family receiving friends following from 5-7 p.m. both at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at Dunsford Funeral Chapel on Saturday, November 12, at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
A memorial has been established with the Kansas Society of Crippled Children in care of the funeral home.
