Robert William Hayes, 81, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019 in Wichita, KS.  Robert was born on Friday, September 17, 1937 in El Dorado, KS to Vernon William Hayes and Esther (Krug) Hayes.

Robert graduated from August Senior High School in Augusta, Kansas and the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.  During his college years he was in ROTC and upon graduation served as a 2 ^nd Lieutenant in the Army for three years.  Following his service in the military he was employed in the aircraft industry in Wichita, KS and later in Dallas, TX.  Robert was an accomplished pianist, an avid sports fan, particularly of college basketball, and a trivia enthusiast.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Gayle Hayes Hachen, brother-in-law David S. Hachen, Jr. and his nephews Seth Hachen and Aaron Hachen.

Graveside Service will be on Tuesday, August 20 ^th at 10:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
