Robert Dale Hartup of Topeka, Kansas passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025 in Topeka.

Robert was born in Augusta, Kansas on Tuesday, July 29, 1941, the son of Ray Hartup and Alice Ann Green.

Robert grew up in the Augusta area and graduated from Augusta High School with the class of 1959. He graduated from Emporia State University in 1963 with a degree in Education. He earned a Master's Degree in 1968 from Emporia State.

Robert taught Junior High School in Junction City from 1963 to 1981. He taught Special Education in Topeka school and Rossville High School from 1981 until his retirement in 2006.

Robert is survived by several nieces and nephews, Ray (Denise) Cunningham of Dover, TN, Carl (Minh) Cunningham of Wichita, KS, David (Ginger) Cunningham of Carbondale, KS, Barbara (Bill) Goss of Collierville, TN; great-nieces and nephews, Sarah Young, Codi Cunningham, Kara Cunningham, Norman Cunningham, Laura Cunningham, Jennifer Ayers, Jonathan Cunningham. Robert was especially close with his great-nephew, Jason Jack.

Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Cunningham of Carbondale, KS; brother, Donald Hartup; and niece Cindy Lopez.

Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 23rd at 9 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta Kansas.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
