Obituary

Avila, Robert Marshall, 72, retired United States Air Force Tech Sergeant and retired Boeing tool crib attendant passed away, Saturday, January 5, 2013, in his home in Augusta.

Robert was born April 9, 1940, to Manuel and Rose (Costova) Avila in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He loved fishing, reading, movies and woodworking. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

His rosary will be held at Dunsford Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 9, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will be held in the El Paso Cemetery in Derby with full military honors at 1:00 p.m.

Bob is survived by his sons Lloyd (Diana) Avila of Jacksonville, Florida, John (Tricia) Avila of Derby, Kansas, Jim (Liz) Avila of Clearwater, Kansas; daughters Gloria (Bill) Shanahan of Shawnee, and Tina (Marshall) Manahan of Augusta.; 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouses Agnes, Ardith and Estelle; a sister Barbara Tardiff and an infant grandson.

A memorial has been established with St. James Catholic Church, 1010 Belmont, Augusta, Kansas 67010.
