Richard Lavern Mitchell, 76, of Augusta, passed away on July 4, 2015.

Richard was born December 14, 1938, to Harold and Doris (Bradley) Mitchell in Alma, Michigan. Richard was united in marriage to Lorraine Martin on July 23, 1960 in Alma, Michigan. Richard was a salesman and also worked in real-estate and printing. He enjoyed reading and mowing the yard.

His survivors include his wife, Lorraine of the home; son Brian and wife Tabitha Mitchell of Wichita, Kansas; daughter Shelly and husband Donnie Buck of Augusta, Kansas; grandson Riley Buck; siblings Shirley Peak of Alma, Michigan, Bill and wife Kathy Mitchell of Minot, South Dakota, Sheila and husband Jon Springs of Hot Springs, Arkansas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and Leon.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 8, from 1-7 p.m. with family being present from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dunsford Chapel in Augusta, Kansas.

Memorials have been established with Heart and Lung Association, and may be left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
