Lt. Colonel (Ret.) Richard Bruce Harman, 87, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024.

Richard was born on Saturday, November 28, 1936 in Santa Barbara to Norval Vern Burton and Jane Elizabeth (Turner) Harman.

Richard was united in marriage to Lola Marilyn Hanna on July 17, 1960, in Dighton, Kansas. They were married for 63 years until Richard's passing.

Richard attended Kansas State University and received his bachelor's degree in Geology while enrolled in ROTC. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army for 28 years. He worked in the Medical Service Corp. while in the Army and once he retired, he worked for the Aurora (Colorado) Medical Center for another 15 years, before retiring again.

Richard enjoyed spending time cooking and fishing and loved his family and his dogs.

Richard is survived by his wife, Marilyn Harman of Eureka, KS; daughter, Sherry Watkins of Eureka, KS; son, Scott (Krista) Harman of Charlotte, NC; five granddaughters and one great-granddaughter; brother, Tom (Dianne) Harman of Huntington Beach, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents.
