Randall L Huddleston's Obituary
Randall (Randy) L. Huddleston, 63, passed from this life unexpectedly at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, KS on May 8, 2017. He leaves in his wake many loving family members and friends. Living most of his life in Augusta, he was born January 17, 1954 to Raymond O. and Elizabeth E. (Wilson) Huddleston, now both deceased.
Married to Cecilia J. Bedigrew on June 15, 1973, in Augusta, he leaves behind two sons that also miss him; Adam T. Huddleston, in Augusta, and Ryan B. Huddleston, in Wichita, KS. Randy also leaves behind one dearly beloved granddaughter, Aevan Elise Huddleston, daughter of Ryan and Darla (Garcia) Huddleston.
Randy was born third in a family of seven children. His oldest brother Jack Huddleston and wife Heila live in Wisconsin; Jerry Huddleston, in Wichita, KS; his sister, Debbie (Huddleston) Reslock and husband Bill, in Colorado; Kevin Huddleston and wife Cheryl, in McCune, KS; Mike Huddleston and wife Connie, in Corpus Christi, TX; and youngest brother Mark Huddleston, in Wichita, KS. Randy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will dearly miss their Uncle Randy.
Randy was a self-employed carpenter most of his working life between jobs at Republic Supply oil field pipe and supplies, managing the Republic store in Ark City, KS and also working for a time at the Mid-America World Trade Center in international marketing allowing him to travel & visit all over the U.S. and world. However, Randy enjoyed simple pleasures, especially camping with his many family members and friends. He also loved and played all kinds of sports, was a scuba diver, took guitar lessons from Mr.Tibbits, took flying lessons,
was a fairly good hand at magic tricks
and excellent at sign language where he interpreted services at the Church of Christ in Ark City, KS for three years. Starting first with a Tandy computer, he was self-taught and excelled at computing skills over the years writing his own programs. Randy could build about anything, including the 'Tater Hater' potato launcher and just recently was trying his hand at home brewing to create a drink with the perfect head. However, of all the joys in his life, getting together with family made him happiest, especially being with his most treasured granddaughter, Aevan, now 5 yrs. old. Randy would say he lived a simple life but those who knew him knew he was anything and everything but a simple man...he had a life well lived.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Randy and his life on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Augusta Church of Christ on 3500 Ohio St. in Augusta, KS.
