Rameth "Ray" Alburtus Manahan Jr., 94, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

Ray was born on Sunday, December 7, 1930 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Rameth Sr. and Kathleen (Cartmell) Manahan.

Ray was united in marriage to Joyce Pearl Stephens on May 8, 1954. They were married for 68 years before Joyce's passing in 2023. Joyce was the love of his life and they met a café in Austin, Tx. They brought four children to their union, Marshall, Doyle, Cathy Jo and Carol Jean.

Ray served his country in the United States Air Force where he was a combat Korean war veteran. After the service he worked for Shamrock as an accountant. Then he went on to working as an inspector in the aircraft industry for many years.

Ray loved his family dearly, loved fishing, hunting and watching the western channel. One of the highlights of every year was the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorn Football game. Mom and dad always had an argument of who was going to win the game. Whoever lost had to wash dishes for week and the kids had to choose sides. Of course that changed every year depending on who had the better team. The kids didn't want to wash dishes. He also like coaching the boys games, but when it came to coaching girls he didn't like to coach girls because they would wrap him around their little finger. He loved calling his grandkids, stinkweed, and usually they would in turn call him a stinkweed.

Ray is survived by his son, Marshall and wife Tina Manahan of Augusta; son, Doyle and wife Sharon Manahan of Haysville; daughter, Carol and husband Randy Kaufman of Benton; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents; wife; and daughter Cathy Jo Manahan.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday June 28th at 1:00 p.m. at Augusta United Methodist Church. Interment and Military Honors will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta after the service. Family and friends are invited to Marshall and Tina's afterward for food and fellowship.
