Obituary

AUGUSTA, Sapp, Pauline Dorothy (Davis), passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the age of 95.

Pauline was born in Augusta, KS on June 22, 1919. She graduated from Augusta High School in 1937 after which she attended the Wichita School of Cosmetology. She worked for the Wichita Public Schools and operated her beauty shop on the weekends and evenings out of her home. She enjoyed making quilts and knitting for her grandchildren; she was an avid fisherman, and birdwatcher and enjoyed her bridge club. She traveled extensively with her campers club and enjoyed spending winters in south Texas, honing her many crafts.
On August 26, 1938 she married Ray Almon Sapp in Eldorado, KS. They were married 56 years. He preceded her in death in 1994. She is also preceded in death by granddaughter Shelley Poynter, and Sisters Kathleen and Mildred.
Pauline is survived by daughters Sandra Wilson, husband George, Marilyn Hisle, husband Phil; grandchildren Kim Wilson husband Mark, Eugene Wilson, wife Lesa, Gerald Woodard, wife Leslye, twelve great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. She was very proud of her family's five generations.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 23, at 2:00 p.m. at the Dunsford Funeral Chapel. Visitation is scheduled for September 22 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Interment following the service at the Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Memorials have been established with the Grove United Methodist Church in Grove, OK and Victory in the Valley in care of the funeral home.
