Melvin Wayne Carr, 77, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

Melvin was born on Tuesday, September 16, 1947 in El Dorado, Kansas to Bill C. Carr and Viola (Sanders) Carr.

Melvin worked in aircraft for several years. He then went on to work at Parks Motors, where he retired after 20 years.

Melvin enjoyed spending his time working on cars and watching Mark Hoover on New Spring Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren most of all. Two years in a row, the first two years the Latham annual Bluestem Car Show was held, Melvin won first place for his 1972 Harley Davidson Service Car Trike Motorcycle.

Melvin is survived by his daughters, Crystal and her husband Paul Kapalata and Jennie Turner; son, Bryan Carr; grandchildren, Joseph Kapalata, Alex Rombough, Ashley Rombough, Devin Rombough, Caitlin Rombough, RheaLynn Turner, Gage Turner, Ava Darling, and Macy Darling; great-grandchildren, Landyn Hughes and Zyah Eeds; sisters, Marilyn and Mary.

Melvin is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ronald, Donald, and Charles Carr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 29th from 5-7 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
