Obituary

Marilyn K. Renville ( Born December 23, 1941), passed away peacefully at her home in Augusta on June 7, 2025. She attended school in Claflin Kansas. She met her husband G. LaVerne Renville and married July 24, 1958, at the Methodist Church in Claflin. To this union, 5 daughters and 1 son were born.

In her early married years, the family lived in Medicine Lodge Kansas and moved to Stafford in 1962. Marilyn owned and operated the Daylight Donut shop. This business was expanded to include an area for kids to enjoy playing pool, ping pong, pinball machines and of course a juke box. She later purchased the Buffet on Highway 50 with her friend Carolyn. Marilyn was also involved in Girl Scouts with her daughters. She also helped with the junior bowling league and enjoyed watching the girls play softball. The family was transferred to El Dorado in 1976. Marilyn worked at various jobs including restaurants, TG & Y, and Walmart before becoming a stay-at-home mom. As her son, Jason got older and played sports she supported him in football, and baseball and later motocross.

Marilyn enjoyed cooking and baking for family. She made several wedding cakes and flower arrangements as a hobby for friends and family. Camping and fishing were a big part of her life along with an annual trip to Enemy Swim Lake in SD.

Marilyn embraced being a grandmother to 25 grandkids, 60 great-grandkids, and 2 great-great-grandkids. Numerous other children considered her mom or grandma during her life.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Harold Causey; in-laws; and husband of 49 years, LaVerne. She also was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Donald Belcher; son-in-law, Laythan Vice; and grandson, Kaeleb Vice.

She is survived by daughters, Denise (Sean) Lineback, Teresa (Bert) Long, Kathryn (Rodney) Keithley, Loretta (Bruce) Lineback, Ramona Renville; son, Jason (Kati) Renville; sister-in-law, Luana Renville; nephews Randy, Jeff, and Tony Shumway; and many cousins.
