Marilyn Faye Newlon, 70, passed away on July 4, 2017.


Marilyn was born on May 2, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas to Harold and Clara Miller.  She was married to Joel Newlon who survives her. Marilyn owned the screen printing business Prairie Wind in Augusta for many years and was also a pre-school teacher for First United Methodist Church.  She loved gardening, cars and the WFO car guys, going to car shows with her husband, the Royals, Shocker basketball and Wildcat football. She deeply loved her family and spending time with her children.


Marilyn is survived by her husband Joel; daughters Wendy (Mike) Murray of Philadelphia, PA, Kristy (Gavin) Fitzpatrick of Augusta, Angie (Tom) Tysor of Midland, GA; siblings Charles (Ruth) Miller of Kingman, KS, Eddie (Sharon) Miller of Joplin, MO, Gene (Carolyn) Miller of Minneapolis, MN, Louise Miller of California; 5 grandchildren, Harrison, Erin, Daisie, Ali and Ian.


Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; son Gary Kent Newlon; and sister Trudy Miller.


Memorial Service will be on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Augusta.


The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to First United Methodist Church - Poverty Initiative, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
