Mable Louise Bruner, 91, passed away Wednesday morning December 26, 2018, at William Newton Memorial Hospital.

Mable was born on February 21, 1927 in Winfield, at St. Mary's Hospital, the daughter of John and Nannie (Henshaw) Boomershine.  She attended grade school at Rock and Green Valley and attended high school in Douglas and Winfield.  Mable had previously worked at McLellan's for 7 years and then Binney & Smith Inc. from April to October in 1952.  Mable married James Paul Bruner on September 25, 1952 in Bentonville, Arkansas.  The couple lived in Winfield, KS then 1 year in Arkansas City, KS before moving back to Winfield.  Mable returned to work at Binney & Smith, Inc. in 1968 and retired from Binney & Smith, Inc. in 1986.  Mable always enjoyed her quilting and music as well as her love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mable is survived by her son Mark Bruner of Winfield; daughter Paula Bruner of Winfield; daughter Debbie (Rick) McAfee of Winfield; grandchildren Nicole (Nick) Capps of Winfield, Amber (Jeremiah) Gibbs of Arkansas City, Crystal (Matt) Ellis of Winfield, Sean McAfee of Wichita, Brayden McAfee of Winfield; great-grandchildren Kairi Roberts, Alyssa and Summer Ellis, Jackson Gibbs, Ian and Eden Capps; nephews John (Jan) Stone of Buloxi, MS and (Richard Stone, deceased) and wife Katie of Shawnee Mission, KS, as well as many great nieces and nephews.

Mable is preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, sister Thelma Stone (and her husband Ervin), brother Garold Boomershine (and his wife Mildred), and her nephew Richard Stone.

Graveside services will be on Monday, December 31st, at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Cemetery in Winfield.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to the American Diabetes Association or Salvation Army, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
