Shufelberger, Lila Louis (Ferris), 91, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013.

Lila was born March 23, 1922, to Harry Warren and Lydia Louise (Rogers) Ferris in Moline, Kansas. She married Walter Eugene Shufelberger on January 1, 1939, in Syracuse, Kansas. Lila retired from the Augusta Medical Complex and over the years her many duties included ward clerk, medical clerk and activity director.

Her survivors include her daughters, Dorothy (Bill) Ohmart and Valeta Hansen all of Wichita; daughter-in-law, Barbara Shufelberger of Inman; sister, Dolores Jean Sanford of Garden City; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; son Elvin Shufelberger; grandson, Carl Willis; great-grandson, Jonathan Hansen; brother, Ted Ferris and a sister, Beverly Perkins.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 19, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service Saturday, July 20, at 2:00 p.m. both at Dunsford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.

A memorial has been established with Finch Hollow, 707 N. Golden Hills, Wichita 67212 or in care of the funeral home.
