Lewis Wayne Jones, 78, passed away in his home on Thursday, August 7th, 2025.

Lewis was born on Sunday, February 23, 1947 in Ark City, Kansas to Jack & Maybelle (Rutter) Jones.

Lewis worked as an Avionics Technician for Cessna & Boeing for several years and then was self-employed.

Lewis graduated from Ark City High school and studied at Butler Community College before proudly serving in the United States Airforce where he was a Sargent with the 753rd Radar Squad, stationed at the Kincheloe AFB in Sault Sante Marie, Michigan.

Lewis enjoyed camping, fishing, horseback riding, and loved spending time with his family. In his younger years he enjoyed going for rides & trips on his Honda Goldwing motorcycle.

Lewis is survived by his children, Brian (Melinda) Jones of Wichita KS, Christina (Derek) Dixon Jones of Winfield KS, Cami (Danny) Schmidt of Belle Plaine KS, Tod (Mikey) Jones of Latham KS, Nikki (Micheal) Essary of Bristow OK, Rebecca (Larry) Coursey of Ark City KS; 16 grandchildren; & 11 great-grandchildren.

Lewis is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Connie Canfield; and great-granddaughter Harper Perry.

Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 22nd from 5 - 7 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
