Rierson, Lela "Ruth" (Pennington) 95, homemaker and farmer's wife, passed away, Saturday, August 10, 2013.

Ruth was born June 28, 1918, to John Franklin and Lillian (Howe) Pennington in Okanogan, Washington. She graduated from Augusta High School in 1936 and married Fredrick "Fred" Carney Rierson on November 14, 1936, in Douglass, Kansas.

Ruth is survived by her sons and their wives, Fred "Mike" and Patsy Rierson of Leon, Gary and Barbara Rierson of Grenola, Kansas and Roger and Becky Rierson of Leon; daughter, Judy and her husband, John Minton of Augusta; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; daughter, Patricia Stockton; great-grandson, Ryan Mason; brothers, Ennis, Lowell, Fred and Phillip Pennington; sisters, Ermal French and Joyce Hyde.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 12, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral will be at Victory Worship Center, 1924 Dearborn, in Augusta on Tuesday, August 13, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.

Memorials have been established with Heartland Hospice or Gideon's International or Victory Worship Center all in care of the funeral home.
