Bukovatz, Laura May (Gifford), 87, of Wichita passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at Life Care Center of Andover.

Laura was born on September 15, 1924, to Carl and Faye (Cunningham) Gifford in Garnett, Kansas. She married John Bukovatz in Kansas City, Kansas and to this union were four sons, John, Roger, James and Gary. Laura was a past editor of the Kansas League of Municipalities, and later worked as an office manager and tax preparer for H&R Block.

She leaves to mourn her passing her sons, John C. Bukovatz (Linda) of Topeka, Kansas; Roger A. Bukovatz (Peggy) of Waverly, Kansas; James L. Bukovatz (Sherry) of Topeka, Kansas; Gary R. Bukovatz (Cindy) of Wichita, Kansas; brother, Keith Gifford (Zelda) of Waverly, Kansas; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and many other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband John; parents; and a brother Forrest Gifford.

The family will have a memorial service at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2011.
