Seaman, Floyd Kendall "Ken", 85, passed from his temporary home to his eternal home on April 29, 2011, after a brave fight against cancer.

He was born September 6, 1925 to Floyd and Ferne Seaman in Gypsum, Kansas. Ken served his country bravely in WWII as a nose gunner in a B24. He married Betty (Benson) Drake on February 19, 1953, at First Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas. His life's work was with the Wichita Fire Department retiring in 1979 as a Battalion Chief. He was a member of the Albert Pike Masonic Lodge, a Shriner, who for many years drove a Shrine Hospital Van transporting children to the Crippled Children's Hospital in St. Louis for treatment.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty of 52 years, and one grandson, Evan Haynes.

He is survived by a brother, Pat Seaman (Lori) of St. Charles, Missouri; daughters, Lynn Freese (Jim) of Wichita, Kansas, Pam VanWalleghen (Michael) of Champaign, Illinois, Toni Gerleman (John Edge) and Traci Haynes (Greg) of Scottsdale, Arizona; a special friend June Graves of Hurst, Texas; 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service is planned Saturday, May 14, at 11:00 a.m. at West Evangelical Free Church, with family visitation at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Midian Shrine "Plane of Mercy", 130 N. Topeka, Wichita, Kansas 67202, or Hospice of the Valley, Sherman House, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, Arizona 85014.
