Kathryn Irene (Atkisson) Boren, 89, of Augusta passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010, at Lakepoint of Augusta. Kathryn was born to Alfred Mark and Essie Mildred (Stephenson) Atkisson on January 4, 1921 in Xenia, Kansas.

On November 15, 1941, she married James Harold Boren in El Dorado, Kansas. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed everything going on around her. Kathryn worked for Boeing during the WWII, riding a bus to work every day while James served in the military. She was a long time employee of the Style Shop in downtown Augusta. Kathryn and James had one son, Terry of Augusta.

She was preceeded in death by her parents her husband James and a sister Dorothy Raymond.

She leaves to mourn her passing Terry (Debby) Boren of Augusta; grandson Nathan of Augusta and granddaughter Amanda (Matt) Brazell of Augusta.

Viewing will be from 1-5 p.m., Thursday May 20, and Friday morning, May 21, from 9-11 a.m at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 21, at 1:00 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.

A memorial fund has been established with the St. James Catholic Church building fund in care of the funeral home.
