Obituary

Kathleen "Kathy" Ann Howerton, aged 72, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024. A proud alumna of Augusta High School, Kathy graduated with distinction as part of the Class of '70, thereafter, pursuing her passion for cosmetology at Vernon School of Cosmetology

Kathy was born on Thursday, January 17, 1952, to the late Phillip and Mary (Gillette) Harding. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, as well as her older brothers, Rocky and Jerry Harding, leaving behind a legacy of love and fond memories.

A cherished highlight of Kathy's life was the fulfillment of her deepest wish-to embrace the joys of motherhood. In 1984, her heart overflowed with joy upon welcoming her daughter, Holly, into the world. This happiness doubled in 1986 with the birth of her second daughter, Robin, completing Kathy's dream of a loving family.

Despite life's challenges as a single mother, Kathy's unwavering faith and indomitable spirit remained steadfast. Her culinary talents were matched only by her boundless love for her family, as she relished every moment spent with her cherished grandchildren. To encounter Kathy was t o experience the embrace of unconditional love and acceptance, a sentiment she effortlessly extended to all who crossed her path.

Kath is survived by her brother, Clint (Sue) Harding of Augusta; her adoring daughter, Holly (Mike) Randol of Augusta; her daughter, Robin Howerton; and her treasured grandchildren; Easton and Payton Routh, Makayla, Levi, and Chloe Randol, and Jayce, Tavyn, and Cayge Reust. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Her departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her, from her closest companions to those who simply reveled in her company. Kath's legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering generosity will continue to resonate, serving as a guiding light for all who were touched by her presence.

There will be a family held Celebration of Life on April 6th at 3 p.m. at the Frisco Train Depot in downtown Augusta.
