Joyce Norgan, 75, of Douglass formerly of Attica, Kansas passed away, Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at her sons home in Douglass under the care of her family and Rivercross Hospice.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 20th, at 2:00 p.m., at the Atlanta Cemetery in Atlanta, Kansas with Pastor Don Cross officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00-12:00 noon also on Friday at the Dunsford Funeral Home & Crematory in Augusta, Kansas.

A memorial has been established with the Rivercross Hospice. Contributions can be left with the funeral home.

Joyce Anita Hughbanks Norgan was born on November 28, 1935, the daughter of Alvin and Evelyn Blurton Silcott in Anthony, Kansas. She was a 1954 graduate of the Attica High School. On May 22, 1954 she was united in marriage to Larry Hughbanks in Newkirk, Oklahoma. After Larry served in the Navy for 12 years the couple returned to Attica. Joyce worked as an insurance receptionist for doctors and later the Family Health Center in Derby for 10 years. She later retired from the Hutchinson Health Clinic. Joyce enjoyed bird watching, gardening, canning, crochet, sewing, pen & ink crafts. Most of all she loved her family.

Surviving to honor her memory are her sons, Chris Hughbanks and wife Diana of Douglass, Kansas, Mike Hughbanks and wife Vivian of Mulvane, Kansas; daughter, Stephanie Couch and husband Dorsey of Atlanta, Kansas; sisters, Jean, Joan, Juanita and Jeanice and brother John; grandchildren; Danica Eders, Eric Gaston, Tami Boettjer, Katy Head, Seth Couch, Daniel Couch and Jimmy Taylor; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Larry; and brother Jim Silcott.
