Andover - John William Hromek, 79, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020.

John was born on Friday, September 13, 1940 in Chanute, Kansas to Sid and Marie (Hutchins) Hromek.  John married his high school sweetheart, Marjorie Ann Hanshaw, on October 16, 1959 at Andover Methodist Church.  They are still residing in the house John built 60 years ago.  John worked at Wesley Medical Center as a Project Engineer for 41 years retiring in January 2002.  John enjoyed history, genealogy, silver smithing and rock hounding.  He was a clock maker and wood craftsman.  John also enjoyed building and flying RC airplanes, fishing, jewelry making and spending time with his family.

John is survived by his wife Marjorie; children Mark (Rene') Hromek, Chris (Dawn) Hromek, and Kathy (David) Adams; grandchildren Sarah (Andrew) Rhodes, Jennifer (Brian) Young, Jacklyn Hromek, Trevor Adams, Trenton Adams, Misty Hromek and Cody (Kaitlynd) Hromek; great-grandchildren Wyatt and Elijah Rhodes, Mary Jane Hromek and Henry Young; brother Larry (Clara) Hromek; and sister-in-law Barbara Hromek.

John is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Cyril Hromek.
