Wichita - Joel "Joe" Ward Newlon, 74, passed away on December 6, 2017.

Joe was born on February 20, 1943 in Salina, Kansas to Oliver G. and Marjorie (Sloop) Newlon.  Joe graduated from Hutchinson High School and then attended Hutchinson Junior College and Wichita State University.  After college he worked for Rounds and Porter Lumber Company.  Later on Joe owned and operated the Prairie Wind Image Art, a screen printing business, in Augusta, for many years.  Joe's hobbies were automobile restoration, Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas State Wildcat Football and all Augusta High School sports.  He loved his family immensely.

Joe is survived by his daughters Wendy (Mike) Murray of Philadelphia, PA, Kristy (Gavin) Fitzpatrick of Augusta, Angie (Tom) Tysor of Midland, GA; grandsons Harrison Fitzpatrick and Ian Murrray; granddaughters Erin Fitzpatrick and Ali Murray; brothers Doug Newlon and Gary Newlon; and sister Mary Harms.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Carol Martin Newlon; son Gary Kent Newlon; and wife Marilyn Faye Newlon
