Jerry Willard Long, 78, of Leon, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015.

Jerry was born on August 16, 1936, to Harry and Fannie (Gates) Long in Potwin, Kansas. Jerry worked in instrumentation and was a pipefitter. He enjoyed working on and repairing automobiles and houses, going to the mountains with family, taking pictures and traveling.

His survivors include his son, Jerry Jr. of Leon, Kansas; daughter, Lisa and her husband Melton Hamilton of Towanda, Kansas; sister, Judy and her husband Perry Ireland of El Dorado, Kansas; grandsons, Michael and his wife Teresa Robinson of Columbia Falls, Montana, Jason and his wife Erika Long of Leon, Kansas, Joshua and his wife Jeanette Jernigan of El Dorado, Kansas; granddaughters, Jennifer and her husband Danny Jimenez of Leon, Kansas, Jody and her husband Brandon Snyder of Leon, Kansas; Great-grandchildren, Brennen, Griffin, Jennifer, Anna, Jenna, Jacy, Paige and Alivia.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mack and Floyd Long, sisters Jessie Wright, Marjorie Sampson.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Leon.

Memorials have been established with Butler County Fire District #9, in care of the funeral home.
