Jerry "J.D." Douglas Bell, 71, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

J.D. was born on Wednesday, October 15, 1952 in Vincennes, Indiana to Charles Jr. and Helen (Marjean) Bell.

J.D. was united in marriage to Carol Johnson on December 18, 1992. They were married for 30 years until Carol's passing in 2023.

J.D. worked as a machinist for Cessna, Boeing, and Boeing. J.D. enjoyed learning and was a prolific reader, as well as a published author, and beloved agitator! Together, he and Carol attended Fiddlers and Picker in addition to belonging to the Oddfellows. He loved his family and was a devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather.

J.D. is survived by his daughters, Helen "Katie" and husband Michael Chastain, Megan Bell, Kelby and husband Kelley White, and Amada Diggs; step-daughter, Kimber Chessmore and Jacob Langthorn; 3 grandchildren, Lawrence Timothy Chessmore, Evangeline Lily Chastain, and Bennet Carter Chastain; sister, Kelby "Tinker" Burnett and husband Keith Burnett.

J.D. is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 29th at 6 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to the Wichita Public Library, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
