James "Dan" Daniel VanBuskirk, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025 surrounded by family.

Dan was born on Sunday, March 24, 1940 in Lockwood, Missouri to James Hugh and Iva May (Heiskell) VanBuskirk.

Dan was united in marriage to Marion Frances Clement on March 30, 1963. They were married for 60 years until Marion's passing in 2023.

Dan was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force. Once leaving the Air Force, he worked at Beech Aircraft for a period of time. Dan had vast knowledge, ability, and talent for working on and fixing vehicles, sharing that talent with many companies over the course of his career. Dan also spent many years as a reserve deputy with the Butler County Sheriff's Department.

Dan enjoyed learning to fly and earning his pilot's license. Dan loved spending time with his family and friends, sharing his love for the Lord, going camping, riding dirt bikes, going to car shows, and building his 1923 Model T Roadster.

Dan is survived by his son, Vance (Carolyn) VanBuskirk; daughter, Lucille Frye; grandchildren, Joseph (Danyelle) Frye, William Frye, Timothy Frye, Avery VanBuskirk, Kathleen (Bryson Duis) Frye, Elizabeth VanBuskirk, and Emily Frye; 5 great-grandchildren with one great-grandchild on the way; brothers, Bill VanBuskirk and Darrell VanBuskirk.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Hugh Douglas VanBuskirk; and sister, Mary Jean Bocock.

Family held Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 26th at 2:00 p.m. at True Life Church in Wichita, Kansas.
