Obituary

Jackie "Jack" Otis Flippo, 90, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022.

Jack was born on Friday, March 18, 1932 in Magness, Arkansas to Otis and Ella (Grisham) Flippo. Jack was united in marriage to Lyla Radcliff on August 5, 1955, in Wichita, Kansas. They were married for 67 years until Jack's passing. Jack worked as a stamp distribution clerk at the post office for 33 years. He retired with a disability from the United States Army in 1951 after serving as a sniper in the Korean War.

Jack loved old western movies, country music and talking to strangers. His favorite pastime was sitting around with friends exchanging stories of questionable veracity. As he mentioned once to his wife, the first liar doesn't stand a chance.

Jack is survived by his wife, Lyla Flippo; children, Kathy (Brad) Brown, Gail (Paul) Luther, Jeff (Lan) Flippo, Russel (Mary) Flippo, Dan (Angie) Flippo; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Odell Flippo; and sisters, Ella Van Mantooth and Billie Jewel Lassiter.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to the Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.

Memorial Service will be December 17th at 2:00 pm at the Douglass Methodist Church.
