Hazel Evelyn Brown Rierson, 93, of Douglass, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in El Dorado.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012, at the Cumberland Bible Church. No viewing. A private family graveside service will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.

She was born on July 8, 1918, in Crispin, Kansas to Archie and Nora Tucker Brown. She graduated from North High School in Wichita.
Hazel married Russell Dean Rierson on June 23, 1940. They moved to Douglass, where they raised their son Ronald. She spent many years devoted to her family, faith and community. She invited children of the community to the "Good News Club" in her home to teach them the word of God. She has touched so many lives in her 93 years. Everyone who knew her, loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ben, Carl and her husband.

She is survived by her son, Ronald; grandchildren Heather Rierson; John (Jennifer) Rierson; Bethany (Eric) Wilson, all of El Dorado; Amanda (Tracy) Gaddis of Garden City; great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Rierson, Jenna Rierson, Brenten and Brayden Gaddis. She was also blessed with the news of two great-grandsons to arrive later this year.
