Klein, Hattie Bonnie (Cody) Carner, 98, of Augusta passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Lakepoint of Augusta.

Hattie was born to Edward James and Eliza Bell (Sonders) Cody on August 30, 1911 in Butler County, Kansas. On July 21, 1927, she married Wesley William Carner. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1946. She then married George Jacob Klein on November 15, 1963. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1970.

She was a homemaker and retired from the Walnut Valley Nursing Home kitchen staff.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughters Barbara Nelson and Janice Lee; 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her son Bill Carner of Round Lake, Illinois; daughter Bonnie Furgason of Augusta, 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5-7, Tuesday, June 1. Funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon, June 2, at 1 p.m. both at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.

A memorial fund has been established with Lakepoint of Augusta in care of the funeral home.
