Harold Stirling Taylor Jr, 83, passed away on April 9, 2017.

Harold was born December 21, 1933 in Salina, Kansas to Harold and Hulda Taylor Sr.  He graduated from Salina HS in 1951.  Harold married Ethel Bebee in the early 1960's.  Harold had previously worked as an electrical engineer in the telecommunications field.  He worked for Western Union for 20 years, AT&T for 20 years and then Northern Telecom for 5 years.  Upon retirement, Harold bought a 40 acre ranch and raised cattle.  He loved flying his plane and Ethel enjoyed going with him on trips.

Harold is survived by his five stepchildren, Anna Short, Merrie Evans, Melvin Simmons, Gary Simmons and Everett Simmons; brother Herbert Taylor of California; brother-in-law Arden of Oregon; good friends Carole Cavanaugh of Douglass, KS, Charles Hilt of Douglass, KS and Mac Bennington of Augusta, KS.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ethel in 2008, and two sisters.

Memorial Service will be on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Chapel in Augusta.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to either the Douglass Senior Center or the KS Humane Society, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
