Gordon Stewart and wife Margaret (Ann) Stewart, married for 66 years, recently passed away peacefully within 8 days of each other.
Gordon was born in Sterling, Colorado in 1938 and grew up in the Sidney, Nebraska area, until joining the Navy where he served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Boxer (CV-21) as a quartermaster.
Gordon had a long career in marketing and sales including managing KMON radio station in Great Falls, Montana and being a business consultant across the western United States, eventually settling in Wichita, Kansas for more than 20 years.
Margaret Ann Turner was born near London, England in 1936 and immigrated to the United States in 1956. Gordon and Ann were married October 4, 1958 in California.
Ann was a devoted wife and mother of four sons: Kenneth, David, Brian, and Raymond. Ann had a career as an office receptionist with several companies, eventually retiring from the Wichita Eagle in 1994.
Ann was a devout Catholic and participated in the Summer of Mercy saving numerous unborn children in Wichita. After selling their home in Wichita and spending a few years in an RV, Gordon and Ann settled in Casa Grande, Arizona for more than 20 years.
When not playing some poker at local venues, Gordon created coupon cards in his spare time which supported local school fundraisers. Ann spent her time sewing clothing that was sent to needy children around the world. They enjoyed spending time playing dominoes with their many friends in the Sunwest Resort community in Casa Grande.
Ann passed away on March 25, 2025 and Gordon passed away on April 2, 2025.
Gordon is survived by his sister, Pat Morris. They are survived by Kenneth (late wife Rae), David (partner Louise) and three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, Brian (wife Vanessa) and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and Raymond (wife Alyssa) and four grandchildren and six great grandchildren and two more on the way.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at Cornerstone Christian Church in Wichita, Kansas on their wedding anniversary, October 4th, 2025.
