Sparling, Gladys, Gertrude (Alley), 97, passed away, Saturday, March 2, 2013, in Poplarville, Mississippi.
A private memorial graveside service will be held at a later date in the Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
A native of Princeton, Missouri and formerly of Augusta, Gladys was born November 22, 1915, to Clifford William and Anna Belle (Underwood) Alley in Mercer, Missouri. She was a secretary for her family lumber business and a member of the Methodist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford William and Anna Belle Alley; spouse, Charles E. Sparling; brother, Fred Alley, and a sister, Elizabeth Lietzke.
Her survivors include her children William F. "Bill" Burns of Picayune, Mississippi and Roberta "Bobby" Goins of Sedgwick, Kansas; her brothers Kenneth "Buck"(Gladys) Alley and Robert Alley of Wichita, Kansas; four grandchildren, Jackie Sue, Mistie, Jimmy and William. 8 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren.
